Reaching the abandoned, hurting and desolate

"I am now fighting for those who are suffering in the same circumstances I went through, in the remote areas, and would like to help many to come out of it.

Today God has given me a burden for these remote and desolate villages. I can relate to them; they remind me of where God picked me from. When I see their situation it humbles me and my heart is filled with compassion, which gives me no rest until I do something.

God has called me to be a vessel to bless others and I have fully surrendered to Him, yielded totally to his call."

This is the heart of Jane Francis; former waragi brewer, aspirant nun, and now Pastor and Apostle for Christ, and co-founder of King of Kings Restoration Ministries.  Originally from the Eastern Uganda Bukwa District (formerly part of the Kapchorwa District) on the border with Kenya, under the shadow of Mount Elgon, Jane understands the hardship, suffering and darkness of the people who live and die in these remote regions of the world. (more on Jane's story here)

Internally Displaced Persons' CampThis is also the Mission of King of Kings - to reach out as in Isaiah 61 and Jeremiah 1:5-10 to those in need, the abandoned, hurting and desolate.  We will do this by creating and establishing worship centres and income generating opportunities for the communities, primarily in rural and desolate places.

King of Kings is perhaps not a "glamourous" ministry, with high-profile crusades and broadcasts in large cities.  Rather it reaches out to the many who are often overlooked by this type of outreach.  We go into areas where people are often too poor to travel, are usually in need of even the basics, but who are nonetheless loved of the Lord, and in great need of His healing and restoration.

Our objective is to make a real change in the lives of the people who live in these remote areas, bringing the Gospel in both word and practical ways, supporting the new believers and leaders so that they can grow in Christ and improve their living conditions.

So far we have six churches: one in Kampala, Uganda; four in Eastern Uganda, deep in the rural areas; and one in Moiben, Kenya.  There are also two additional villages in which we have land ready for churches to be built, as well as land for an orphanage, Bible School, Primary and Secondary School, and Prayer Mountain retreat.

We have outlined the mission the Lord has given us in two parts.  First, our "Purpose and Calling", or the type of work we are to pursue, and second, "Mission Objectives" - the activities and projects that will fulfil this purpose and calling.  These activities include both those already begun, and those which we will commence as the Lord provides the opportunity and resource.  In other sections we have set out in more details both our current activities (Our Work) and future projects (Our Vision).
